Since 2017, we have been increasing access to healthcare in Slovakia, offering health support to those who face barriers due to social exclusion, poverty, war conflicts, or other humanitarian disasters. EQUITA is a women-led civil association that has been active in communities where healthcare is both necessary and difficult to access. Our focus areas include primary healthcare, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and support for people who have experienced various forms of violence.

We believe that every person has the right to health, dignity, physical and mental integrity, and the freedom to live without fear, insecurity, and restrictions on movement, regardless of social status, economic condition, race, gender, sexual orientation, citizenship, or the complexity of their needs. We advocate for a healthcare system that accommodates individuals facing various disadvantages in accessing services. Accessible, high-quality, and culturally acceptable services can serve as a catalyst for overcoming challenging life situations.
